PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem in which it is difficult to subject any image to most suitable compression. SOLUTION: A rasterizer 14 analyzes image data, consisting of plural objects to expand it on a bit map and stores it in an image memory 15. An attribute map is generated on the basis of the attribute of each object and is stored in an attribute map memory 16. A compression/expansion processing part 17 refers to the attribute map to compress the bit map, while switching a compression method for each object attribute.
