PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase shifter which reduces loss and can be made small to be more inexpensive by reducing components such as distributors, variable attenuators and adders used by a 2πphase shifter in the 2πphase shifter changing the phases of a high frequency signal and to provide communication equipment using the phase shifter. SOLUTION: Aπdistributor divides a signal whose phase is to be changed into two paths and aπ/2 distributor further divides each of the signals. In the outputs of variable attenuators connected to the four paths being the outputs of twoπ/2 distributors, the optional phase shift quantity of 0 to 2πrad can be adjusted by changing the attenuation quantity of the variable attenuators.
