PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fixed attenuator designed to prevent it from falling off from an adaptor even when the attenuator is pulled in a state the attenuator is fittingly connected to the adaptor. SOLUTION: In the optical fixed attenuator which is equipped with a ferrule 6, plug frame 1, holding rind 3, casing 2 and split sleeve 7, an engaging piece 11 is axially supported freely rotatably so as to enable press contact/separate to/from the outer face of the plug frame 1 inside the rear end of the holding ring 3; meantime, a sleeve 12 is provided which is fittingly mounted from the outside so as to make it freely slidable in the axial direction at the rear end of the split sleeve 7, and a projection 12c is provided at the tip end of the sleeve 12, a projection that is inserted between the engaging piece 11 and the holding ring 3 by a pressurizing force due to the fitting and connecting of the plug and that brings the engaging piece 11 into press-contact with the plug frame 1.
