PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a dynamic range, while keeping low noise, small pixels, a single frame reading and an interchangeable transmission function. SOLUTION: Electric charges which blooms from an optical detector are integrated during a time period to be controlled, without connection to the integration time of the optical detector, and these collected blooming electric charges are added to the signal electric charge of the optical detector in the reading of the pixels. Further more, the expansion of the dynamic range is realized by utilizing the behavior of signals gradually reduced with the increase of an optical level related to the reading of CMOS APS under a high illumination level. This is performed by collecting samples at two reset levels, having different passing times between reset and reset level measurement and providing two different effective reset level integrating times by it. These two measurement reset level are compared, to obtain the effective signal level of the optical detector which exceeds the physically saturated signal of the optical detector.
