The actuator incorporates a guide sleeve (12) for a tappet clearance compensation element. The bell-shaped guide sleeve is a separate component and has a part projecting into an axial bore (6) in an armature (3), which is formed as a stretched neck (11) and acts as axial guide for the valve actuator (5). The bell-shaped part of the sleeve contains the tappet clearance compensation element (7), and has a socket part to plug into the cylinder head of the IC engine. The guide sleeve is a one-part sintered component.
