An ice cream mixing apparatus comprises a funnel (2) for holding ice cream (1) and flavour additives, an auger (3) and a linear actuator (6) for moving the auger (3) into the funnel (2), in which position a rotation of the auger (3) will mix the ice cream (1) and the flavour additives. A spring means (39) is arranged in series with elements (4, 24, 27) transferring linear motion from the linear actuator (6) to the auger (3).
