<p>An adhesive tape comprises a backing or support layer (10) coated on one side with an adhesive, and formed with a multiplicity of weakened areas (11). The areas (11) may be isolated zones created by thermal bonding, and may be aligned in the cross-direction of the tape and disposed out of alignment in the longitudinal direction.
