The conductor wire (1) has each of the plaited wire filaments (2) provided by a number of individual wires of Cu or a Cu alloy, with deformation after plaiting by applied external pressure, e.g. by rolling in the conductor wire longitudinal direction, for providing a rectangular conductor wire cross-section with a ratio of between 1:1.5 and 1: 2.5 between its shorter and longer sides.
