METHOD OF PRODUCING MODIFIED CELLULOSIC FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process for modified cellulosic regenerated fiber that can reduce the swelling with water and gives excellent fabric hand. SOLUTION: After a crosslinking agent bearing two or more reactive functional groups in the molecule is added to the cellulose viscose solution, the resultant viscose solution is extruded into the coagulation and regeneration bath and the extruded fibers are heat-treated whereby the objective modified cellulosic fibers are produced. In this case, the crosslinking agent is an epoxy crosslinking agent and the amount of the crosslinking agent is 1-15 wt.% based on the cellulose in the cellulose viscose.
