An electrostatic method for producing a master image for decorating ceramic, enamel or glass objects comprising the steps of:providing a temporary support having a surface with release properties,image-wise depositing charged toner particles, having a volume average particle size dv, such that 5 mum<dv<15 mum the particles including in the bulk particles of a ceramic pigment, CP, selected from the group of metals, metal oxides and mixed metal oxides, having a volumetric particle size distribution such that 90% of the particles have a diameter lower than ⅔ times dv andproviding particles of glazing material, having a volumetric particle size distribution such that 90% of the particles have a diameter lower than ⅔ dv, in the master image.Preferably the glazing material is brought in the master image by image-wise depositing toner particles comprising in the bulk of the toner particles both a ceramic pigment and glazing material.
