PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power assist unit for electric power-assisted vehicle miniaturizable as much as possible. SOLUTION: A first control board 136 loaded with the control element of a drive motor 21 and arranged in a casing 94 is extended in the direction substantially orthogonal to the shaft of the motor 21, and at least a part thereof is extended to the position overlapping with the motor 21 when seen from the axial direction (arrowed direction A) of the motor 21. A second control board 135 is arranged so as to partially overlap with the first control board 136. Therefore, a CPU 20 requiring a relatively large setting area can be arranged in the overlapping part with the motor 21 of the first control board 136, so that the internal space of the casing can be effectively utilized. The second control board 135 is formed of an aluminum board, and directly mounted on the inner wall of the casing 94, whereby the heat generated from an FET or the like mounted on the second control board 135 can be effectively dispersed.
