PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jig moving in water in a manner similar to the motion of fish to be hooked by efficiently converting the vertical motion into the forwarding motion. SOLUTION: The jig body 1 is provided with a line-engaging part 3 on the upper face and a fishing hook at the lower face. The body 1 has a lateral cross section having lateral width larger than the longitudinal width at least except for the rear end part. The whole upper face acts as an upper water- receiving plane 6 and the whole lower face as a lower water-receiving plane 7. The front part 8 of the jig body 1 is made to be heavier than the rear part 9. In the upper water-receiving plane 6 formed by the whole upper face of the jig body 1, the area of the water-receiving face 6b behind the fishing line engaging part 3 is made to be larger than the area of the front-side water- receiving face 6a.
