PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional air conditioner for a cabin of a vehicle not depending on an engine by comprising a Stirling machine used as a cooling machine, and a driving unit for driving the same, generating the electrical energy, and simultaneously executing a cooling process or a heating process with a coolant free from the environmental load. SOLUTION: This air conditioner uses a duplex Stirling machine 1 comprising a Stirling driving device part 11 and a Stirling cooler part 12, and the mechanical output produced in the Stirling driving device part 11 is used for driving the Stirling cooler part during the ordinary operation.
