PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overlap printing method which reduces ink fouling caused by the mixing of inks in process printing in which inks overlap each other and makes printing for a long time possible and a coating method. SOLUTION: In the overlap printing method for a plurality of layers of inks containing at least a resin and a solvent, the difference in the aniline points of respective solvents contained in adjacent two ink layers is at least 10 deg.C, or inks in which the difference in the solubility, which is defined by the amount of an added solvent (g) at 25 deg.C when the solvent is added to 1 g of a resin to a cloud point, of resins contained in the adjacent ink layers is at least 5 g are laminated. In the coating method, a heat-curable over-printing varnish is applied on an ink layer printed by the overlap printing method and cured by heating.
