PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer capable of pressure contacting a print head with a platen in the overall width of a printing sheet with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A head supporting member bearing for bearing the rotation center of a head supporting member, a head supporting member guide groove for guiding approachably to or separably from the head supporting member and a cam bearing part for contacting the cam of a head-up member are formed in a frame. A pivot for engaging the supporting member bearing part with the head supporting member is formed at the head supporting member. A slider engaged with the guide groove is fixed. The head-up member having a plurality of cams having different heights and formed thereat is rotatably mounted. The cams contacted with the cam bearing part are selected by rotating the head-up member to approach or separate the head supporting member to or from the platen.
