PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chisel for hydraulic breaker intstalled on a power shovel and provide a hydraulic breaker equipped with the mentioned chisel whereby it is possible to perform effective crushing operation in excavation of a ditch having vertical wall surfaces or pulldown of a concrete building. SOLUTION: The chisel for a hydraulic breaker is composed of a chisel body 1 furnished with first crushing part and a second crushing part 2. The chisel body 1 has a rod shape and has the first crushing part 1a at the tip and a supporting part 1b at the base end, and is supported by the hydraulic breaker at the supporting part 1b. The second crushing part 2 has a blade shape and protrudes laterally from the side face of the chisel body 1. In detail, the second crushing part 2 is equipped with a pointed tip part 2a, a slant flank 2b confronting the first crushing part 1a and a back face part 2c confronting the supporting part 1b, and the vertical cross-section assumes a wedge shape. The slant flank 2b should preferably be provided with a cutting edge in part or the whole on the side with the pointed tip part 2a.
