PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter adhesion prevention device for a tool installation part of a tool post using an existing structure for automatically changing between a turning tool and a rotary tool, and capable of detachably installing a cover by automatic control by use of a dummy holder before use of the rotary tool. SOLUTION: The cover body 6 is detachably provided in the holder 7 capable of being detachably fitted in the tool installation part 4 as well as a taper shank part 9 of the turning tool or the rotary tool, while the tool installation part 4 is provided with a cover body fixing device 8 for fixing the cover body 6. The cover body 6 is fixed by the cover body fixing device 8 with the holder 7 fitted in the tool installation part 4, and the holder 7 is removed. Thereby, the cover body 6 is left and installed on a tool abutment reference surface 5 of the tool installation part 4. When the rotary tool is installed in the tool installation part 4, the reference surface 5 does not be exposed. By releasing the cover body fixing device 8 to remove the holder 7, the cover body 6 is removed from the tool installation part 4 together with the holder 7.
