PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing the control data for a pushing and bending machine, in which the control data to realize the pushing and bending with high accuracy can be prepared while saving labors of collecting the measurement data as much as possible. SOLUTION: The bending moment applied to a long work is calculated based on the curvature 1/Rb of a long product specified by the shape data. The elasto- plastic bending deformation, i.e., the actual curvature 1/Rc caused in the long work is calculated based on the calculated bending moment. The geometrical position 73 of a moving die 13 is corrected based on the calculated actual curvature 1/Rc. The shape error of the long product attributable to the elastic restoring for, i.e., the spring-back can be eliminated sufficiently by the actual working position 73 of the moving die 13 based on the calculated actual curvature 1/Rc. In particular, such an actual curvature 1/Rc is geometrically calculated based on the bending moment, and the labor of collecting the measurement data can be saved as much as possible.
