METHOD FOR TREATING BY-PRODUCT DISCHARGED FROM COKE OVEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a by-product discharged from a coke oven, capable of reducing by-products discharged from the coke oven into the atmosphere. SOLUTION: (1) An oxygen-containing gas is added to the inside of a riser in an operation for burning the by-product of dry distillation from the upper part of the riser of the coke oven or for discharging the by-product as it is into the atmosphere. (2) The oxygen-containing gas is added to the inside of the riser to cause a rotational flow. (3) The oxygen-containing gas is added toward the center line of the riser at the upper outlet part of the riser.
