PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power tool having an improved resisting force to breakage of the crossing part between a handle part and motor/gear train part. SOLUTION: The power tool is equipped with a first housing assembly including a motor assembly and first wall member, a mounting post having an axis stretching in the longitudinal direction, and a second housing assembly connected with the first housing assembly and fitted with a gear train assembly, a second wall member and a mounting hook wherein the second wall member bounds a second cavity terminating at the second adjoining surface. The first wall member bounds a first cavity terminating at the first adjoining surface having an axis stretching in the longitudinal direction and is connected with the first housing assembly so that the longitudinal axis of the mounting post becomes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the first cavity. The mounting hook is provided with a slot having axis stretching in the longitudinal direction and a first and a second side wall.
