摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish proper controllability for the operating condition of an internal combustion engine upon judging accurately eventual generation of knocking whereby it is possible to distinguish a knock signal from a pseudo knock signal as a noise. SOLUTION: If the characteristic of a BPF(band-pass filter) is such that the band width (Q-value) is set as wide as 10 [dB], the log (V) distribution characteristic as the output distribution characteristic of the logarithmic normal distribution of the peak output values V of knock signals can be made approximately identical in two cases with pseudo knock generated and with no knocking generated. This allows properly executing the judgement based upon the log (V) distribution characteristic at the time with no knocking generated including eventual generation of pseudo knocking in distinction from at the time knocking is generated. In this manner, existence or non-existence of knocking generation can be judged accurately, and it is possible to control the operating condition of an internal combustion engine properly.
