The invention relates to a method and a device for cleaning areas of the pharynx, especially for cleaning the tongue. In addition to mechanical cleaning of the area to cleaned, especially by means of a scraper (22), liquid-supported cleaning is carried out. A liquid is directed to an area to be cleaned using pressure and by means of a nozzle device (10) that influences the liquid distribution. The nozzle device preferably has only one nozzle opening and is configured in such a way that the liquid distribution in at least one direction crosswise in relation to the moving direction of the liquid is enlarged by means of the nozzle device and in such a way that the area to be cleaned can be cleaned over a great working width (37) ranging from approximately 10 to 20 mm by means of the liquid when there is a relative movement between the nozzle device and the area to be cleaned. |
