PURPOSE: A laser cathode ray tube and a screen exciting method thereof are provided to simplify an electric circuit and reduce manufacture cost by applying a high acceleration voltage while grounding the electric circuit coupled to a cathode. CONSTITUTION: A laser cathode ray tube comprises an electron gun(1), a laser screen(5), an electromagnetic focusing system(8), a deflection system(9), and a cooling system. The electron gun is mounted at a neck of a bulb(2) and includes a cathode(3) for electron emission. The cathode(3) is coupled to a ground. The laser screen(5) is arranged opposite to the electron gun(1) and includes a laser target(6) of a thin semiconductor single crystal plate. The electromagnetic focusing system(8) and a deflection system(9) focus and deflect an electron beam to the laser target(6), respectively. A high voltage input is arranged at the side of the bulb(2) and coupled to a source having 30-70kV to apply a positive potential to the laser target(6).
