PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing motor overheating is provided to set a motor in good condition by sensing a heat generated in a DC motor outer case and thus giving an alarm when a temperature inside the motor reaches an abnormal temperature. CONSTITUTION: A temperature sensor(2) is installed on a case of a DC motor(9) to detect a temperature of the motor case. An adhesive tape(1) attaches the temperature sensor on the case. A temperature controller(3) is connected to the temperature sensor(2) and the adhesive tape(1) to compare a measured temperature detected in the temperature sensor with a predetermined alarm temperature. A warning lamp(4) and a buzzer(5) are connected to a right side of the temperature controller to follow a control of the temperature controller. An allowable temperature of a coil insulation within the DC motor is set as the alarm temperature. When the DC motor(9) is operated, the temperature sensor(2) detects the temperature of the motor case. A cool air supplying apparatus is comprised of an AC motor, a cool fan, and an air filter. When the alarm goes off, a user checks the cool air supplying apparatus and removes a cause of the temperature increase.
