PURPOSE: A device for preventing soft arcing of a cathode ray tube and a device for testing thereof are provided to prevent breakage of an IC formed in a chassis portion by reducing electric current flowing to a convergence cup from an anode button in soft arcing of a cathode ray tube, the composition of which is completed. CONSTITUTION: The device for preventing soft arcing of the cathode ray tube and the device for testing thereof include an anode button(6), a bulb spacer(12) and a chassis portion(14). The bulb spacer(12) is connected and fixed between a neck dug of a cathode ray tube and a convergence cup for forming the resistance between the anode button(6) of the cathode ray tube and convergence cup big. When the soft arcing is generated, the breakage of the IC formed in the chassis portion(14) by reducing the electric current flowing to the convergence cup from the anode button(6) of the cathode ray tube.
