PURPOSE: An accelerator device for a vehicle is provided to simplify a structure of an accelerating device, which is equipped with a cruise control device, and to reduce product costs, by checking a stepped degree of an accelerating pedal through a detection of a position of a slider and controlling intermittently a position of a slider. CONSTITUTION: A rod(1) is rotatably joined to an accelerator pedal(51) rotated on a bracket. A slider(2), which is a conductor, is equipped on the end of the rod and inserted into a moving hole(3). A housing(4) is fixed on the lower side of the acceleration pedal and forms the moving hole having reciprocation. A sensing device, which is equipped on the housing, is contacted to the one part of the slider to sense the slider position, and transfers the signal to an ECU(5). A fixing device is equipped on the housing and fixes the slider when the acceleration pedal is maintained in the fixed condition. A throttle valve motor(52) is controlled by the ECU.
