PURPOSE: An apparatus for selecting a link extraction clock of a trunk system is provided which compares link extraction clocks used for network synchronization in the trunk system with each other to allow the most stable clock to be automatically applied to a network synchronizing block. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for selecting a link extraction clock of a trunk system includes a controller(41) for generating a control signal and a clock select signal to control a link extraction clock select operation in each of blocks of the apparatus, and a clock provider(42) for receiving a basic clock to generate a clock required. The apparatus further has a link extraction clock input unit(43) for receiving extraction clocks by links, a phase synchronization detector(44) phase-synchronized with the link extraction clock of the link extraction clock input unit using the clock received from the clock provider, and a clock phase comparator(45) for receiving a synchronous signal from the phase synchronization detector to compare the phase of the link extraction clock of the link extraction clock input unit with the phase of the clock of the clock provider. The apparatus also has a clock extractor(46) for extracting the most stable clock information using the compared result to output a clock select signal, and an extraction clock selector(47) for selecting the link extraction clock of the link extraction clock input unit according to the clock select signal of the clock extractor to output the selected basic clock to a network synchronizing block.
