PURPOSE: A device and method for processing information are provided to transmit and receive desired information signal. CONSTITUTION: A dubbing application reads out the dubbing information from the flash ROM in a step(S41), and makes display a message for confirming whether or not the dubbing processing is re-started on a monitor in the step(S42), and judges whether or not a dubbing restart command is inputted in the step(S43). When the dubbing restart command is inputted, the dubbing application resets based on the read out dubbing information to re-start the processing in the step(S44). When the dubbing restart command isn't inputted, the dubbing application preserves a signal showing that the dubbing processing is canceled in the flash ROM in the step(S45).
