METHOD FOR FABRICATING DOUBLE-DOMAIN AND FOUR-DOMAIN TN MODE PANEL

PURPOSE: A method for fabricating a double-domain and four-domain TN mode panel is to provide a TN mode panel having two or four different domains within one pixel by a simple manufacturing process including a rubbing process. CONSTITUTION: An alignment film containing a compound expressed in a chemical equation 1 is printed on a top plate and a bottom plate. A portion of the top plate and a portion of the bottom plate are patterned using an ultraviolet(UV) exposure process. A process for rubbing the patterned top plate and the patterned bottom plate is carried out. The rubbed top plate and the rubbed bottom plate are assembled. In case where the four-domain TN mode panel includes a biaxial compensation film, a gradation inversion can be eliminated to 80 degree. It is desirable to maintain an angle between two domains at 90 degree. A pre-tilt angle is measured using a crystal rotation method.
