PURPOSE: A device for displaying a projection type image in the front and the rear directions is provided to reduce a cost by performing a front projection method and a rear projection method together without separating an image projection device from a main body. CONSTITUTION: The first screen(102) of a rear projection type image displaying device is installed at the front surface of a case(100). A light source(104), a LCD panel(106), the first mirror(108), a focus lens driving unit(110), a zoom lens driving unit(112), the second mirror(114) and a control unit(120) are included in the case(100). The control unit(120) includes a micro computer, a driving circuit for driving a motor, a LCD driving circuit, an infrared rays receiving circuit, a front key input unit and an audio signal processing unit. A light outputted from the light source(104) is modulated as an image formed by a LCD panel(106) through the LCD panel(106), and the modulated light is reflected in the first mirror(108). The reflected light is irradiated at the second mirror(114) through the focus lens driving unit(110) and the zoom lens driving unit(112). The light irradiated at the second mirror(114) is reflected and displayed as an image at the rear surface of the first screen(102). Thus a viewer watches an image displayed on a screen at the front portion of the first screen(102). The control unit(120) controls an expanding and a reducing of the screen by displaying the image through the LCD panel(106) and adjusting a position of a focus lens controlling the focus lens driving unit(110) and the zoom lens driving unit(112) and controlling a position of a zoom lens by controlling the image on the first screen(102) to be clearly displayed.
