PURPOSE: The automatic drain device and drain method of a toilet bowl is provided to use the toilet bowl comfortably and make the toilet bowl clean by draining water automatically after going to the lavatory. CONSTITUTION: A man sensing device(10) perceives a man approaching in a toilet bowl(1). A load-sensing device perceives a man sitting down on the toilet bowl. A control device discharges water after going to the lavatory according to the output of each sensor. A running device opens a drain valve installed in the water tank(3) of the toilet bowl according to the management of the controller. The drain method is comprised of; a step sensing the approach of a man; a step sensing man's sitting down on the toilet bowl; a step deciding the beginning of stool; a step deciding the ending of stool; a step deciding the opening of the drain valve after stool.
