PURPOSE: A method for restoring data from damaged directory information equipped with damaged data and a recording media which a computer can read are provided to increase the efficiency of a work using a computer by restoring damaged data as original data even though directory information having the damaged data is damaged. CONSTITUTION: FAT information of a hard disc is detected and stored in a memory(S610). Route directory information is detected and stored in the memory(S620). Data are analyzed by forms. In addition, a damaged directory is detected(S630). Directory information to be restored is analyzed. A directory is generated on the basis of the directory information(S640). The damaged directory is restored. The damaged data stored in the directory restored are restored(S650).
