PRODUCTION OF HIGH QUALITY COLOR INK JET PAPER

PURPOSE: A process for preparing color ink jet paper by using relatively fine particles as compared to silica, a curing agent and a coating liquid composition is provided. Thereby, the obtained ink jet paper has excellent printing effect by improving the film characteristics of a coating liquid not to deeply infiltrate the coating liquid into the inner part of base paper. CONSTITUTION: A coating liquid composition for forming a coating layer to absorb ink of an ink jet printer is coated on base paper induced from an unwinder(1) using a coating equipment selected from an air knife coater, a roll coater and a bar coater in an amount of 8 to 20 g/m¬2 and dried at an arch type drier(4) supplied with dry hot blast at 80 to 150deg.C. PVA or a starch aqueous solution is coated on the back side of the coating layer with a back coater(5), dried with a cylinder drier(6) supplied with 80 to 150deg.C steam and treated at 50 to 200deg.C under pressure of 20 to 100g/cm¬2 to produce the title paper.
