PURPOSE: To provide a mechanism capable of supporting respective transaction types inside a system including devices of various types even though all devices on a bus do not support the transaction types of higher performance. CONSTITUTION: Concerning a method for transferring data between devices in a computer system, it is preferable a request source device broadcasts the request of data to the other device in that computer system. The computer system identifies the target device, which contains these data, out of plural response devices in that computer system. In response to a decision that the target device does not support the transaction of higher performance, the computer system disables the transaction of higher performance and transfers the data to the request source device through transaction processing of lower performance.
