The invention relates to an diluent and disintegrating composition characterised in that it contains an effective proportion of particles of highly crosslinked starch with limited swelling, enclosed in a matrix of pregelatinised starch. It also relates to a process for the preparation of this composition and to its use in the production of solid forms.
