A method of operating a computer system for managing orders for transactions on an exchange, wherein an order for a transaction is placed by an originating member and performed by a fulfilling member, each member having access to a different terminal of the system, the method comprises inputting at a first terminal at least one information item of an electronic transaction; transmitting the at least one information item from said first terminal to a processing system, said processing system being operable to route information items between said first terminal and said second terminal and to generate transaction criteria to be agreed by said originating member and said fulfilling member, receiving at said first terminal transaction criteria accepted at said second terminal, displaying at said first terminal transaction criteria accepted at said second terminal and inputting at said first terminal an indication of acceptance of said displayed transaction criteria.
