IMAGE DISPLAYING METHOD AND DEVICE

An image displaying method for displaying a multitude of images to be retrieved in a three-dimensional space with an easily-browsable image expression in a short time, hardly fatiguing the eyes of the user. The method comprises reading image data and information on arrangement of images in a three-dimensional space, setting and moving a viewpoint in the space, determining a simplified two-dimensional arrangement in which image data original is transformed into a two-dimensional image by a parallel magnification projection processing of performing translation corresponding to the direction of each image and magnification/demagnification corresponding to the size according to the relationship between the information on the image arrangement and the information on the viewpoint in the space, creating a display image according to the simplified two-dimensional arrangement, and displaying the display image. Easily-browsable image expression is realized by guide display of a multi-resolution synthesized image, a segmented image, a background image, and the eye fatigue is evaluated on the basis of an optical flow and thereby minimized.
