<p>The material passes between two funnelled guide plates through a pair of smoothing rollers to a pair of parallel, shear rollers, each having interleaved pairs of knife blades protruding through slots in the guide plates where it is cut into the strips by teh scissors action of the rotating blades. The material then passes over a fixed knife blade against which a spiral fluted cutter interworks and is cut into short pieces crosswise.</p> |
