The pressure plate group has a housing (12) attached to a flywheel for rotation about an axis, containing an axially displaced pressure plate (14), acted on by a membrane spring (16), associated with a wear adjustment device (18) with a setting element (20) used for providing automatic wear compensation. The ratio between the actual wear and the wear compensation differs from 1, e.g. a ratio of between 0.6 and 0.95. An Independent claim for a friction clutch with a pressure plate group is also included.
