PURPOSE: A digital TV receiver and a method for automatically changing channel using an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) reservation function are provided to show program of reserved channel by automatically changing the channel at a reserved time even though a power source is turned off or a viewer watches program of other channel. CONSTITUTION: A digital TV receiver for automatically changing channel using an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) reservation function includes a TS(Transport Stream) decoder(17) for outputting EPG data and a controller(10). The controller controls the digital TV receiver, stores EPG data received from the TS decoder, automatically changes channel by checking a timer mounted within, checking a status of the digital TV receiver if it is the reserved time of a channel reserved using the EPG, and showing program of the reserved channel.
