This cap with warranty strip is for a vessel, e.g.a tube or bottle with cylindrical wall. The wall has an external, continuous, circular bead near the mouth. The cap outer diameter exceeds that of the bead. It has a ring section surrounding the top of the wall. Lower down it has a warranty strip with a ring shaped retainer. This is continuous, or may be interrupted, e.g. as tabs. The bead interferes with removal of the strip and cap. The new feature is the separable interconnection of two different parts to make the cover and warranty band/retainer unit. They may be of identical or differing plastics, e.g. LDPE or HDPE. Also claimed is the manufacturing process in which the parts are separately injection moulded and welded together using an adhesive or thermal-, ultrasound- or laser welding.
