Cow's milk analyzed using gas chromatography contains specified amounts of caproic acid, caprylic acid, capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, vaccinic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid,9,12-trans linolenic acid, 9,12,15-cis linolenic acid and conjugated cis-9-trans-11 18C fatty acid. Cow's milk analyzed using gas chromatography contains (per 100 g fatty acids) 1.7-2.7 g caproic acid, 1-1.6 g caprylic acid, 1.6-4.2 g capric acid, 2.8-4.25 g lauric acid, 10.5-13 g myristic acid, 23.9-31.6 g palmitic acid, 12.5-17.4 g stearic acid, 2.5-6 g vaccinic acid, 24-29 g oleic acid, 1.6-3.9 g linoleic acid, 0.5-1.0 g 9,12-trans linolenic acid, 0.6-1.2 g 9,12,15-cis linolenic acid and 0.7-3.35 g conjugated cis-9-trans-11 18C fatty acid. The milk contains in total 60.3-68.15 g saturated fatty acids, 40-51 g long chain (at least 18C) fatty acids, 32.85-39.7 g unsaturated fatty acids, 28.68-39.2 g monounsaturated fatty acids and 3.15-4.65 g polyunsaturated fatty acids, and the ratios of 16C saturated:18C monounsaturated fatty acids and of OMEGA 6 to OMEGA 3 are 0.68-1.2 and 2.5-5, respectively. Independent claims are included for: (1) products made of this milk, (2) dairy cow feed comprising at least extruded linseed granules, (3) a feeding process for dairy cows involving using this feed and (4) the production of the feed involving extrusion at 80-130 degrees C. |
