The drive converts wind energy to mechanical rotation energy using a wind wheel (4). A vertical rotation transmitting axle (1) is connected to a screw propeller (3) by a drive shaft (2). The wind wheel preferably comprises several hemispherical umbrella-type screens (5). A holder element (6) is connected to the axle on one side by a roller bearing (7) and to a float body (9) on the other side by stabilizers (8).
