PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power storage system that improves the storage efficiency by utilizing effectively the heat energy of a high temperature steam electrolysis solid fuel cell system and an existing generating plant between them. SOLUTION: A solid electrolyte cell (1) which is capable of reversible operation between high temperature stream electrolysis and solid fuel cell is installed attached to a generating plant. The cell (1) performs steam electrolysis by using surplus power as well as power storage by hydrogen. In this process, part of heat necessary for generating stream used for the electrolysis is supplied from the main steam of the generating plant. When power is demanded, power is generated using hydrogen made from the surplus power, and the surplus heat from the cell (1) is utilized for heating the main stream of the generating plant by a heat exchanger (2). |
