PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot device and a control method thereof capable of extraordinarily improving amusement performance. SOLUTION: In this robot device and this control method for that for generating an action based on an action model, the action model is selected among plural action models based on at least one of input information from the external and self-action and/or growth history. As a result, in this control method for the robot device, the next action that is the optimum can be continuously performed in accordance with a current situation, thereby a robot device and a control method thereof capable of extraordinarily improving amusement performance can be provided.
