PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem accelerator taking smaller area for installation. SOLUTION: This tandem accelerator has a coaxial tandem accelerator containing an accelerator tube 14 on low energy side and an accelerator tube 15 on high energy side and a high-voltage terminal 16 in a tank 13. The tank 13 is divided into a first half tank 11 and a second half tank 12, and the low energy side accelerator 14 and the high energy side accelerator 15 are arranged in the half tank 11 and the half tank 12, respectively. The first half tank 11 is supported by a linear guide mechanism in the direction at right angles to the axis direction of the tank, and the second half tank 12 is supported by the linear guide mechanism movable in the axial direction of the tank.
