PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical opening and closing detecting device with lower application costs in regard to a lid opening and closing detecting device conventionally attached directly in contact with a handhole lid and resulting in necessity to attach a number of opening and closing devices for the number of lids in a constitution of plural lids. SOLUTION: In this lid opening and closing detecting device, a portion contacting the lid and a portion with means applying bending to an optical fiber are separated, a plurality of the means applying bending are juxtaposed inside one box body, and a movable member of the contacting part and a movable member inside the one main body are connected by a release cable or the like.
