<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem such that the ball of a mouse using a conventional optical rotary encoder easily slipps by rolling in dirt or dust on a table or a mouse mat due to the rotation of the ball or slipps by dust sticking to a space between the ball and a photointerrupter. SOLUTION: The mouse is provided with an ultrasonic transmitter and a receiver instead of an optical rotary encoder and detects the amount of movement of the mouse by comparing the phase of ultrasonic waves reflected from the mouse mat with that f a transmitted ultrasonic wave.</p> |
