PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain chemical-holding material which can give a chemical so as to not produce the irregularity of the topical concentration in the range of application and has both quick-acting property and prolonged action in the range of application. SOLUTION: This chemical-holding material 1 is composed of a fabric in which liquid antimicrobial sorptive silica gel particle 3 is fixed on the surface of sheet-like base material 5. The silica gel particle 3 is obtained by impregnating with a liquid antimicrobial in a weight proportion of 10-70 wt.% based on the particle 3. When the chemical is liquid, herbicides, antiseptics, mildewproofing agents, deodorants, insecticides or the like are used instead of the antimicrobial. Further, other porous particles, e.g. zeolite particles or the like, may be used instead of the silica gel particle.
