PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface traveling ship to prevent lowering of pump efficiency due to cavitation phenomenon and improve the speed of the boat without the occurrence of a problem, such as complication of structure, the increase of a boat weight, and the increase in a cost. SOLUTION: In a surface traveling boat 1 running on a surface by driving a pusher 4, disposed in the rear part of a hull, by an engine 3, the engine 3 forms the engine 3 where crank shafts 25 and 26 are disposed 1 on the longitudinal direction of the hull and a cylinder shaft is inclined in the lateral direction of a ship body. An output shaft 28 is disposed such that its axis parallels the crank shafts 25 and 26 and an output gear 32 engaged with drive gears 30 and 31 situated at the end parts of the crank shafts 25 and 26 is situated on the output shaft 28. A propeller shaft 15 is connected to the end part, situated on further on the rear side than the output gear 32, of the output shaft 28 through a joint 34 made of rubber, and a portion between the output gear 32 of the output shaft 28 ad the joint 34 is supported by a bearing 29.
